Issues with changing graphical settings

I would love to play this game with more than 10-15 fps, but that would require turning the graphical settings down.

Yet, whenever I do, my computer crashes. Is there any reason why this would be happening?

Anyway, you can use an autoexec to lower your graphicsettings

if the crash problem is related to use a resolution lower to the desktop i have the same here, i dont need to lower the resolution but aways crash when i try to, but is an engine bug since it happens to all mods of the same steam sdk version here.

Would you also be able to tell us which of the settings causes your game to crash when it is lowered?

in my specific case only the resolution, my desktop resolution is 1152x864 (from the max of 1280x1024), all 4:3 resolutions bellow 1152x864 cause a instant crash to desktop on *ALL* source games before orange box. (half life 2 ep1 included), in a very odd way changing to 16:9 resolutions dont crash at all.

(i hack a widescreen resolution in my crt by squashing the image verticaly, for the greater fov at 16:9) i play all source games on either 1280x1024 or 1280x720 without any problems.

just to let this clear, this is NOT a neotokyo bug, is an source engine bug.

I have same problem for INsurgency and Neotokyo. Usually, switching setting one by one and saving helps.
