The European division has been a lot more interesting and there's still one more match before we know who the champion is. From one side of the brackets we have French team Canards in the Shell, very narrowly defeating their countrymen in All Starz Gamerz + Teddy Bear Attack and NeoFrag° Alpha. From the other side we have international team Econsole!, easily defeating NeoFrag° Beta in their first match and a day later the German noobs in aXtion, who did really well for not having played since the patch (or so they say).
This Saturday, December 5th, at 9 pm CET (3 pm EST) we will see Canards in the Shell vs. Econsole! in a match to decide the European champion. We experimented with SourceTV last week and it seems to be working fine, so be sure to keep an eye on that Spectate tab in your server browsers
A week later around the same time we will see the final clash of continents in a battle to decide who gets the approval of the Nine Sisters and the right to wear the [wizards] tag. We haven't quite figured out the details yet but expect the match to move between European and American servers to make it fair latency-wise.
Both of these matches are going to be best of three maps (Engage, Tarmac and Redlight). We noticed that the teams often tend to play safe and wait out the round timer, so in order to make the matches more exciting we have decided to lower the round time limit from 4 minutes to 3 and the score limit from 10 to 8. People have been suggesting other changes but hopefully this is a good compromise. After the tournament I will be posting a feedback thread where players and spectators can tell us what they thought about the tournament in general and discuss issues like this in more detail.
